SQL careers like the database administrator constantly checks the company’s information to be the latest and accurate each time and it is made available to all the department, or branches along with its personnel. The database manager also designs and develops new programs to streamline the company’s operations. He also makes sure that the system runs smoothly incase the company moves, decided to change the software and allow the migration of the files to a newer platform. The database should be simple and efficient yet invulnerable to hacking and malware attacks.

SQL careers requirement is a bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunications or systems science, and other related courses. High school students who desire to pursue these careers should study physics, computer science, and mathematics. If you want higher position in the IT department, a master’s degree of a PhD is what you need for career advancement. Applicants with multiple programming language capabilities have great advantages. The applicant should also have a certificate of Microsoft Database Administrator and pass a series of exams that covers the whole course including maintaining, setting up, and planning using a Microsoft SQL server.

There are more than 110,000 SQL careers filled in the United States today. These careers are expected to grow much faster than any other related field until the year 2015. You may start out as database administrator assistant, and then work your way up to higher level positions in data processing department. In larger companies, many database managers are needed to for securing multinational branches and departments. These skills are necessary for even higher job positions like executive administrator who managers teams of database administrators. If that is not enough, a demonstration of leadership attributes and more hard work, you can be a CIO or Chief of information officer. The need of many industries of good database administrators are constant and are looking for talented and motivated people to link firm’s databases local to offshore branches. Plus you have the option to travel different parts of the globe just to troubleshoot or set up databases. The annual average salary of SQL careers as database administrator ranges from $65,000 to $85,000. CIO and other executive level positions earn as much as $90,000 to $130,000 per year.
