Profile

The Lead Analyst, Business Intelligence is responsible for analytical and reporting support for Health Plan and TSPMG business owners including but not limited to senior leadership and departmental leadership for the Region, Program Office, IT, vendors and employee groups. Responsibilities include: the facilitation of projects and requests to support the objectives of the business owner, retrieval of data, organization of data into information, interpretation of data and its impact on the business, aggregation of large amounts of data, consult with business owners and leaders throughout the region to enable comprehension of the data, results and making recommendations as appropriate. Additionally, the Lead Analyst, Business Intelligence will prioritize and manage multiple analytical projects simultaneously.

Essential Functions:

  • Project Management/Lead Support: Actively participate as a project team member, as required, for ALT prioritized Strategic Initiatives. Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/request simultaneously. Independently deliver quality services and deliverables that meet client expectations and Service Level Agreements. Document business learning's and actively facilitates knowledge sharing with other MIPA team members as well as business leaders. Demonstrate project management and leadership
    ability through planning and communicating scope of work, work plans, stakeholders, targets and managing issues and risks.
  • Analytical and Reporting Support: Provide analytical, reporting and information support to multiple Health Plan, TSPMG and Program Office business owners simultaneously. Facilitate report production or data process development required to meet business needs. Assist in information systems development including the design and management of data sources. Develop and distribute report and analytic deliverables via currently available tools including the report portal and intranet web postings for easy client access. Consult with business owners/requestors to effectively organize, design and implement management reports for on-going monitoring. Perform direct data pulls and report writing in a manner that is clear, concise and representative of the requester/business owners' needs and objectives. Obtain, analyze data and organize results, conclusions and recommendations for presentation to business owners and/ or senior management in a manner that is clear, concise and easily understandable. Consolidate large, complex data and generates executive level reporting with data and translation of data into actionable information. Ensure accurate and timely data delivery to NCQA for HEDIS measures, in addition to other regulatory or compliance reporting organizations. Master complex software packages to assist in the analysis of data to support information needs. Use of database as well as spreadsheet and reporting and other Business Intelligence applications. Promote integration of departmental and organizational skill sets to ensure standardization and integrity of reporting and analysis. Collaboratively drive the iterative process with business owners to design, develop, test and publish reports and analysis. Deliver report requests/projects within Service Level Agreements via measurements from the Data Request Server application.
  • Business Consultant/Analyst: Support the business owners by facilitating the acquisition of data and information needed to drive Regional and operational decision making and process improvements. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on business data and consult with business owners on the characteristics.

    Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience to strongly demonstrate the following skills and knowledge: Data analysis, statistical analysis, communication skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills and group facilitation skills.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience performing report and analytic development in a corporate data environment or data warehouse structure.
  • Use of relational databases and end-user tools (e.g. SQL) to develop interfaces that support senior leadership information requirements.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple business requests simultaneously.
    Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university / college in economics, math, finance, healthcare, technology, business or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Proficient in Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, SAS, SPSS, Excel, Access, Paradox, etc.), RDBMS Databases, PowerPoint, Visio.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years of analytical experience in a managed care/healthcare organization.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in project management, business analysis or executive data reporting.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 BI Suite and Crystal Reports, Cognos, SAS or similar Business Intelligence report writing tools.
  • Minimum three (3) years of hands on experience with Relational Database technologies in or more of the following RDBMS( SQL Server 2005, Teradata, Sybase, Oracle, DB2, Access, Paradox).
  • Minimum two (2) years of consulting experience with emphasis on business analysis and reporting development initiatives.
  • Experience in Provider contracting, benefits, compensation, appraisals, coding or utilization management a plus.
  • Experience with Dashboard tools and Multidimensional tools (SSAS, Cognos).
