Hurricane Model Developer in Chicago!The Hurricane model developer will be part of Wind modeling team within Impact Forecasting focused on development of solutions for tropical cyclone and related hazards. The role responsibilities include, but are not limited to building historical and stochastic event sets, modeling of surface wind speeds, estimating hurricane parameters, analyzing tropical cyclone related data, implementing hazard into modeling platform ELEMENTS, incorporating of climate change research into catastrophe models etc. The position is full-time and is located in Chicago, IL.Role Responsibilities:Tropical cyclone hazard (development of stochastic tracks, tropical cyclone wind fields, parameter estimates etc.)Automation of insurance loss forecast of tropical cyclonesAdaptation of tropical cyclone catastrophe model for estimates of climate change impact on insurance lossImplementation of the model into unified catastrophe modelling platformApplied research in various topics related to tropical cyclone and loss impactSkills and experience that will lead to successM.
