Software Quality Assurance Engineer IV
The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) ERP IT team is looking for an experienced software quality analyst that can lead the way in automation framework and testing. As a quality leader, this role will require working across IT with Business System Analysts, Application Architects, stakeholders in Operations and Finance, and a host of others on cross-functional and often cross-departmental teams to determine the right testing levels and needs in automation. This individual will then be responsible for developing the testing framework in alignment with the product and industry best practices in mind. Finally, this role is responsible for maintaining automation, manual testing as required, and mentorship of other IT professionals in the testing discipline.
This role will directly support Mouse Operations and Finance business units. This will be an onsite position in Bar Harbor, ME.
Setting testing and automation standards along with best practices for testing practices in the team
Estimating/sizing work at various phases of the project lifecycle
Breaking down efforts into tasks and driving execution to completion, either by completing individually or overseeing others.
Hands on automation development experience, X and .NET preferred
Participating in daily/weekly design meetings and interacting with others to work towards a common solution.
Presenting to peers, team or IT community on technologies ideas, or other projects.
Participate in peer reviews of software/configuration/testing
Mentors developers on the ERP team in software testing practices, appropriate use of automation technologies, proper practices for test suite maintenance, and testing leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Sciences or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
5 years’ experience as a test professional, business analyst, and/or developer
Expert understanding of Scrum preferred
Must maintain a HIGH level of ownership and see assignments through to completion based on agreed upon deadlines.
Must be prepared to learn new business processes or application nuances very quickly.
Escalates issues to their leadership in a timely and appropriate manner.
Organizes own workload and works closely with leadership to ensure own workload is clearly defined and coordinated to meet deliverable timelines.
Maintains a working knowledge of JAX’s applications and system integration and is able to understand changes in order to anticipate cross-system or cross-process impacts.
Previous Experience with MS Dynamics AX/Dynamics 365 preferred
Experience with MS SQL Server database
Experience with other ERPs, especially Lawson, is a plus
Advanced experience and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Visio.
Knowledge of current principles, practices and techniques of systems analysis.
Knowledge of technical developments and trends in software quality and automation
Knowledge of technical and business writing.
Ability to diagnose application problems quickly and work with others towards effective solutions for them.
Ability to prepare documentation, charts, and graphs pertinent to work assignments.
Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely in understandable form, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the business community, vendors, customers, and coworkers.
