Job Description:

A Support Analyst is typically an in-house Level 2 support technician who is a Subject Matter Expert in one or more application services. The engineer is responsible for ensuring the system integrity and data integrity for ongoing successful operations. The engineer will also use advanced support techniques to analyse and resolve incidents that were raised through the Incident Management process. They use defined work instructions and troubleshooting scripts to debug complex issues associated with these applications / infrastructure services. Support Engineers in Shell are also actively encouraged to seek and deploy new automation opportunities to remove manual effort and to streamline operations.

Key to this specific role in support of the Shell Environmental Compliance Reporting Service application is the ability to use SQL querying and other data manipulation techniques to validate the integrity of the data as moves through this system. This role has the latitude to use a variety of data interrogation techniques to improve and automate the system. Also key is the management of custom data transport tools.

The engineer will document solutions to known errors to expedite resolution of incidents and perform root cause analysis to minimize reoccurrence. The engineer typically leads testing activities against various changes to the application / infrastructure services through the Development, Test, Staging environments and performs Post-Production testing to ensure technical changes have been correctly applied.

Key responsibilities include:

SAP Environmental Compliance (SAP EC) v3.0

Some elements of platform job monitoring, support and troubleshooting

Data Integrity validation using SAP HANA Studio

Management of custom data transport tools

Incident and Problem management

User access management and report management

End to end co-ordination across SAP EC, Enterprise Reporting Solution (ERS), Enterprise Integration Services (EIS) and Enterprise Business Objects Shared Service (EBOSS)

This role is in the Projects and Technology (P&T) Services and Operations Management (SOM) team, which is part of the ITSO (IT Services and Operations) organization, providing dedicated support and management of key IT operational services to all P&T Business units as well as delivery of IT business infrastructure projects.

P&T is comprised of a broad landscape of business units including many technical disciplines such as Safety & Environment, Research & Development, Field Development Planning, Project Execution, Engineering & Technical Services, Licensing & Sales to Third parties, Contracting & Procurement and new Technology and Digital operations.

PT SOM core responsibilities for all staff are:

Identify and proactively solve problems and identify and implement service improvement opportunities

Develop a detailed knowledge and business benefits of the ITSO services

Seek opportunities to expand knowledge and understanding of the PT business

Challenge and shape demand in the Business in a constructive and positive way

Contribute to delivery of overall SOM objectives and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

Act in compliance with IRM, HSSE and other regulatory frameworks in areas of activity

Support Analyst Accountabilities include:

Change Management for Standard Requests

Monitoring of the technical and operational health of the landscape

Ensuring Data Integrity of the application

Testing related to System and Patch Upgrade

Knowledge Management

Technical/Operational Documentation and documentation to assist end user experience

Proactive Risk Management

Technical Coaching to L1 Support Team

Interface Management – including proactive monitoring of data

SAP EC Standard Request execution

Security Management and Asset Integrity

User Access Management

One IT Control Execution and the storing of applicable evidences

Escalation to suppliers, partner Shell teams and within PT SOM to ensure issues receive appropriate levels of attention

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor's Degree related to Information Technology preferred.

Minimum three (3) years significant IT experience in a corporate setting.

Proven knowledge on NW AS Java, SAP EC, Oracle SQL, Web Dynpro Java. XML.

Experience of SQL Querying, views and reports and data manipulation in MS Access and Excel preferred.

Experience of PLSQL preferred.

Experience of VBA preferred.

Experience with TOAD for Oracle preferred.

Experience with Java and Oracle preferred.

SAP BASIS knowledge and experience preferred.

SAP Environmental Compliance v3.0 preferred.

Knowledge of environmental reporting preferred.

Knowledge of SAP BW, EIS and EBOSS preferred.

Knowledge of Shell delivery methods, Project Delivery Framework, Agile, DevOps preferred.

Knowledge of PT applications (focus on Safety and Environment) preferred.

Knowledge of Supportability and Transition Management preferred.

Knowledge of ITIL and experience in embedding process improvements preferred.
