The Business Analyst on the IB Technology Finance ODS team is a client facing,
Associate level role that involves close collaboration with a well-integrated IB Finance business / technology team.
The Finance consists of two applications. The first, the Balance DataMart, sources all general ledger account balances across the Investment Bank. The second, the IB Single Subledger application sources subledger position balances across the IB. Both applications live on a common infrastructure, sourcing data via Informatica (ETL), loading data into Sybase IQ (DB), and reporting via Cognos.
• Develop a good understanding of the business processes and the associated underlying technical workflows/processes.
• In-depth data analysis and subjective knowledge in solving business expectations. • Translation of business requirements into functional specifications. • Responsible for the full data life cycle from gathering business requirements, upstream data feed analysis, data mapping, feed onboarding and resolving data quality issues. • Work with the internal development team to ensure deliverables meet business requirements. • Engage in test planning / test execution in the System & Integration Test phase. • Partner with the business project team in User Acceptance Testing. • Manage dependencies with upstream and downstream dependency applications.
Required Skills:
• Business analysis within our client’s – Finance Core Processing platform, specifically servicing the Balance DataMart and IB Single Subledger applications. • Work with various business project/technology operations teams to organize, analyze and document business requirements for data feeds, application functionality and reports.
• The role will involve working closely with the technical developers and component testers within the team to ensure requirements have been built correctly. • The business analyst will need to closely partner with the business to define, document and specify functional enhancements. A successful candidate will need to work with the project managers to ensure requirements are defined and carried out successfully to implementation. • Must be able to understand the data model of the BDM/SSL architecture and have experience working with complex data models previously. • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and the ability to work on their own initiative while being a strong team player.

• Knowledge of financial instrument features and trade processing for equities, derivatives, securities and fixed income products would be preferable.
: • College degree, specialized training, and / or equivalent work experience • Strong analytical skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent documentation and presentation skills • Relationship building experience with business clients, team members, colleagues, and peers across multiple sites • Strong financial services experiences • Finance, Risk, and Regulatory experience a plus
