Job Summary HITS Analytics is seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to assist and lead development and implementation of analytical systems which save lives, lower costs and further research and education. This position will work primarily on the reporting, analytic, and dashboarding needs of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department. PM&R is a dynamic department comprised of multiple disciplines with clinical operations in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, necessitating robust operational management information and tools. Additionally, the department is building its capabilities as a Learning Health System, in which science, informatics, and clinical practice are aligned for continuous improvement and innovation whereby knew knowledge is captured as an integral by-product of everyday care delivery. This position will have an essential role in helping to shape the department\u2019s technical blueprint to meet its operational, analytical, decision support, and continuous learning needs. The successful candidate will first and foremost be able to self-teach complex skill sets related to analytics. The candidate will also be expected to effectively mentor\/lead\/train others in development methodologies as well as work and coordinate with business analysts, project managers and customers to complete product design through development, deployment and maintenance cycles. Responsibilities* Leading candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability\u00a0to: Operate independently with minimal supervision and through close coordination with other team members and leadership. Suggest process improvements through automation of data flow. Proactively identify and prioritize business improvements. Lead development of dashboards and other systems in an agile environment. Analyze business requirements and the ability to clearly and concisely document those requirements in the appropriate format. Coordinate with various business and technical groups whose support is needed to build or\u00a0deploy data warehouses \/ applications \/ portals \/ dashboards. Assist with the development and maintenance of ETL processes. Job Function\/Duties Analytics Services and Support: Analysis : PM&R faculty and staff need analytic support to enhance their continuous quality and process improvement efforts and this position will oversee and design analytical paths to achieve success. This includes dashboard development, customization, development of visualizations, trending, outliers, etc. Requirements Gathering : Collaborate with customers to understand and define their information requirements and to create deliverables to meet those requirements. Partner with technical teams to meet those needs, and lead and oversee the technical aspects of implementation. Development: To aid in the support of dashboards, data visualization, and operational management efforts, collaborate with PM&R faculty and staff to develop appropriate measures specifications and report designs. Assist with defining best methods to collect, store, retrieve, and analyze clinical data while translating business requirements into technical specification documents. Work with with data architects to develop data models which support the analytic requirements.\u00a0 Required Qualifications* Required for the Senior Level: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent degree in another field together with related experience. Minimum five years demonstrated experience in a related Information Technology role requiring Data Visualization, Dashboard creation, Process Improvement, and an understanding of all stages of information systems development. Ability to provide examples self-taught, complex skills relating to analytics. Required for the Intermediate Level: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent degree in another field together with related experience. Minimum three years demonstrated experience in a related Information Technology role requiring Data Visualization, Dashboard creation, Process Improvement, and an understanding of all stages of information systems development. Ability to provide examples self-taught, complex skills relating to analytics. Desired Qualifications* 2 or more years programming in complex technical environments - emphasis on health care. 2 or more years experience with Oracle DBMS and SQL development tools. 1 or more years experience with Epic Clarity Report writing 1 or more years experience with Tableau or similar dashboarding tools. Qualified individuals must be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally to clients, peers, management and vendors. Candidates must also be able to communicate business requirements to technical staff and technical concepts to business staff, demonstrate a high tolerance for complexity and ambiguity as well as the ability to identify tasks and complete them with limited supervision.
