SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Software Engineer is responsible for the analysis and development of software solutions specific to the store Point of Sale environment.
Analyze requirements to define project-based objectives that align system features and functionality
Design and develop user interfaces to web based applications; advocating design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products
Design and conduct unit testing
Integrate applications and frameworks using various java-based technologies
Complete application development in an agile environment by contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
Remain current with new web based technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks
Provide off-hour assistance and support during critical outage situations.
Participate in a 24 x 7 on call rotation
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Experience with Java, .NET, C programming language is required
Experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases is required
Experience with both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
Ability to break complex problems down into actionable solutions
Strong technical programming and analytical skills
Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills. Strong organizational and time management skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with Agile software development processes
Requires a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or closely related field and 5 years of related work experience
Experience working on cross functional global teams, multitasking and managing time independently with little direction
