We're looking for an experienced, self-driven, analytical, and creative senior CAE/CFD engineer to drive e-commerce packaging leadership for the Customer Packaging team. In this role you will be responsible for developing and scaling sustainable e-commerce packaging engineering breakthroughs across all of Amazon. This position requires the ability to think big and dive deep, and embody a unique mix of leadership and technical acumen. This candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders. In addition, this opportunity requires excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, technical environment. The ability to work independently and deal with an ambiguous environment is a must. Ownership of work is extremely important, and candidates should have a proven record of driving projects and strategic initiatives to their completion. The ideal candidate is motivated, agile, with strong time management and project management skills, and is technical and analytical. The candidate will also have a passion for helping us to identify and promote sustainability issues and opportunities at Amazon.
Master\u2019s required, Ph.D. preferred in CAE/CFD, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering field
5 years of CFD experience; preferably with cold chain food or medical experience, or other thermal modeling experience.
Exceptional interpersonal and technical communication skills, both written and verbal \u2013 you will be writing white papers on a regular basis.
Strong structured thinking and problem solving ability
Expert in CFD analysis software \u2013 CD-Adapco, Ansys, or alternative
Analytical skills: Statistics, Data analysis
Experience with SQL
Passion for sustainability
Ph.D. in CAE/CFD, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field
8 years of CFD experience; in cold chain food or medical experience
Significant experience with SQL and other data modeling techniques
Patents and commercial products incorporating your solutions
