Profile

Responsible for leading and growing a team of Product Managers who deliver data products and solutions for one of Hulus business verticals. Manage several multi-year product roadmaps simultaneously. Build relationships across all levels of the Hulu organization. Act as a problem solver, elevating the work of team members and team leaders. Oversee the creation of products and product capabilities to democratize data across the Hulu organization. Combine the voice and the needs of Hulu users and Hulu business requirements to create both high-level roadmaps and detailed delivery plans of features and capabilities. Translate and build requirements for features and capabilities between Hulu content and marketing business stakeholders, analysts, data scientists and engineers. Build relationships with major stakeholders including Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Content, and associated teams, thereby setting ongoing product goals for features and capabilities. Identify key requirements with stakeholders, Engineers and Analysts. Engage in an ongoing build out of a 12-month look ahead roadmap and product strategy. Define key requirement epics (a set of requirements that together deliver greater business value and touch the same portion of the product) for major new functionality of the business data systems. Detail requirements to a high-level engineering specification. Understand effort of Engineering teams. Predict roadmap delivery velocity and communicating time and delivery estimates to key stakeholders and building consensus on priorities set to the Engineering teams managed. Define the vision and strategy of data products and capabilities aligned to overall organizational and business objectives. Build and deliver successful data products, services, and capabilities. Utilize strong technical and strategic problem-solving skills. Combine best practice knowledge of data products together with media industry and marketing industry knowledge to define data products that enable decision making within core Hulu functions of content management and subscriber acquisition. Understand key trends and developments in the media ecosystem and applying these to roadmap and strategy plans for Hulu and driving a relationship with Data Architects to ensure engineering capacity and scalability is included in product plan. Manage, build, and grow the Data Product team. Offer organizational design thinking to best structure the team and equip the team for success. Creation of detailed job descriptions for junior and mid-level Product Management positions. Interview and selection of junior and mid-level Product Managers and engaging in career development and performance management of Product Managers. Establish strong relationships between Engineering, Product, and Business teams across Hulu. Engage in ongoing relationship management of key stakeholders and Analyst teams in Content and Subscriber acquisition teams within Hulu. Hold daily and weekly scrum team engagements with Engineering teams working on software development of Hulu data products and ongoing interactions with Data Architecture teams. Oversee an ongoing build out of expertise regarding the best practices and developments in the field and applicability of core technologies. Oversee Agile/scrum product development and leading and educating Product Managers on key processes required for efficient scrum team organization and release velocity. Understand large scale enterprise applications infrastructures in big data open source solutions such as Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Storm and Elastic Search/Solr. Utilizing knowledge of SQL, MySQL, and Teradata databases. Utilize knowledge of No-SQL environments, namely Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, and Couchbase database. Utilize visualization tools, including Tableau, Thoughtspot and Microstrategy and oversee development of video streaming features and OTT (Over-the-Top) content.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics or a related field and five (5) years of progressive experience in a product management occupation.

Experience in a product management occupation must include: Five (5) years of experience with building and delivering data products, services and capabilities; Five (5) years of experience prioritizing and managing competing priorities and make decisions in ambiguous situations; Five (5) years of experience with agile/scrum product development;Four (4) years of experience in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment, driving change, and collaborating with a variety of individuals and organizational partners; Four (4) years of experience leading others, maintaining accountability, and being a partner to stakeholders and business partners; Three (3) years of experience building, developing and leading product teams; Three (3) years of experience in video streaming, content data, or OTT (Over the Top); Three (3) years of experience presenting to and working with senior leaders; Three (3) year of experience with highly analytical and collaborative products and projects that require the ability to leverage technical skills, strategic planning and problem-solving; Two (2) years of experience with Tableau, Thoughtspot, Microstrategy or another visualization tool; Two (2) years of experience utilizing both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis techniques and with common data science models and approaches to problem solving (e.g., Prediction, Classification, Timeseries forecasting, or Clustering); Two (2) year of experience with SQL and at least one of the following databases: Oracle, MySQL, or Teradata; Two (2) years of managing/mentoring and developing product manager; One (1) year of experience with delivering large scale enterprise applications using big data open source solutions such as Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Kafka, Elastic Search / Solr; and, One (1) year of experience with a NoSQL database such as Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, Couchbase.
