Minimum Qualifications
One year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1 and reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 2 list OR in a position at G-16 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a position approved for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Candidates reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title will be considered through a canvass and do not need to apply to this vacancy posting.
Duties Description
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 2 to work within our Application Development team of the Business Solutions unit. The incumbent will be responsible for working on all the aspects of application development for the agencies case management system, NYMatters. This includes requirement gathering, development, testing, migration, and postproduction support.
DUTIES:
• Develop new functionality in the OAG's Case Management system (NYMatters) which includes Siebel, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), JavaScript, React.js.
• Maintain NYMatters and provide customer support.
• Prepare comprehensive test plans and conduct QA testing.
• Ensure best practices and security standards are being followed for all new development efforts.
• Prepare detailed application documentation.
• Conduct troubleshooting for reported issues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in web application development (Java, C , C#, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with database development (Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Packages, and Database triggers).
• Experience in troubleshooting technical issues and creating service tickets.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and be productive using new technologies.
• Detail oriented and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) for Reporting and Analytics
• Experience with Siebel or other Customer Relationship Management Platform
• Experience developing on the Elastic Stack
